By the way, ANet said that a minipet is the present for attending the event, not the second birthday, stop complaining, this event should be awesome!

We already have a bunch of people complaining about it in the scribe thread. And since we'll never convince all those people to confine their whining to this thread, plz take your discussion to that one.

oh boy another one of these.

What if we get some awesome minis like djinns and lich. Last set had whiptail and fungal. I just hope there arent any ones like that. I mean its 2 years, you should get a really special mini for that.

ANET NEVER ANNOUNCED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE A MINIPET AS A SECOND BIRTHDAY PRESENT. All they said was that it is tradable, end of story.

Guru and a few other fansites do not make up most of the community of Guild Wars. Do not forget there are fansites in Europe and in Asia. Sure from what I have read most people did not want Mini- Pets. However out of those people, most could not agree on one idea. Soo in fact even though most did not want a Mini-Pet, the Mini-Pet still won as it was the more popular choice. There is no need to complain about something that is far too late to complain about.

I think you are confused, sir. No where does it say you get a mini for attending the event.

Have you ever heard the expression, "it's the thought that counts"?

It means, even if you didn't get the exact gift you wanted, it's nice that someone thought enough of you to get you a present at all.

<sigh>

To be honest Neo i think the Whiptail is the only minipet that makes sense =D

You know since its a litle bug that follows you around?

Ive been wondering why people hate it

The mini humans like shiro and Varesh make the least sense i think.

Regarding the thread title, i think trowing in an event is present enough right?

Sure some unique untradeable stuff to distinguish us from the rest showing weve been here for a while would be cool, but imagine the ebaying, "WTB 2 year old acount with special auras...(?)"

Just my opinion anyway.

I always get birthday presents when it isn't my birthday.

Most people are just going to sell them asap for a rediculous amount, then maybe buy the pet they want back later. Should have something account based and non tradeable.

To OP: Yes that Dev thread asking about suggestions had an overwhelming number of people saying anything but another mini...

How ungrateful, I mean Anet is giving out something free for its 2 year birthday and some can't even be appreciative ? Very sad. When your family gives you a birthday present or a xmas gift do you tell them that it is aweful ?
I think not so don't do it here.

Ebay won't sell accounts anyway- unless you find some kind of illegit way to do it.

I was just disapointed and was SURE others felt the same way. I mean look at all the posts on Guru as well as other forums about mini-pets being BLEH

Ungrateful? I've spent 2000+ hours on guilds war, 200+ dollars on campaigns as have MANY of us. We've helped make the game a success and would like some appreciation is all.

As far as pets being free? So is every drop, cold coin, bar of plat, piece of ecto, PVP Match, HoH, GVG, TA. Yet people expect changes there. Take possible drops divide it by the total amount of money you've spent in game. Nothing is free, even if it comes down to fractions of cents, it's not free.

As far as gifts go? Christmas, Birthdays? Don't place family values on me, that's irrelevant.

Unappreciative....? I guess, only as much as Anet is.

Though I appreciate that anet is giving us something instead of nothing at all; And don't get me wrong I actually LIKE minipets- However I do entirely understand where you are coming from.

I think there should be something completely UNTRADEABLE that shows you have a two year old character be it a title or aura-hey whatever, just as long as people can't buy themselves a reward that was specially given to two year old characters only. Whats special about something like that?

Hell, I got a bone dragon on one of my chars 1st bdays which I was happy with, and people automatically assumed I'd bought it. Sort of takes away the novelty abit.

It would have been nice to have something that really shows how dedicated you are by keeping chars til 2 years old that can't just be obtained by having cash burning holes in your pocket, theres nothing special about that IMO.

If you really feel that way, protest by throwing yours in the little garbage bin and destroying it without even opening it(or leave it on the ground in an explorable area and zone if you can't destroy it). If you sell it, that means you're liquidating its value, but that's just one use of the present so you must have liked it to use it rather than just being rid of it.

and people be happy your getting somthing what if you didnt get anything for your bday like other MMORPGs have. a lot of you are being ungrateful to ANet formaking such a great game and givng you these. if you dont want it then sell it. someones bound to buy it and look, you just got 100k + X ectos for a mini. but plz dont whine like babies anymore about it. "poor child u got a free item from Anet, the worlds gonna end now" get over it

Because this is constructive...

I'm not going to squabble with you over my oppinion. I'm echoing what others have thought and to be honest, I think we've got a better case than "be grateful" - but again, that's my opinion. As others have said, I'd rather get nothing than another mini-pet. They're having trouble with the in-game economy. Why not screw ourselves over by making tradable items that'll mess with the Econ more!

Anets causes it's own problems.

Don't get me wrong. I love the game and I think Anet's done some great things but players ultimately suffer. As a two year vet, I've suffered with a constantly shifting game-quality. It's my choice to continue to play, and I enjoy it... however... here's a clear case of being ignored:

PC gamer- anet wants to cater to their long-time players with EOTN. There wouldn't be an EOTN if we'd never started playing and continued it's support. AS far as our suggestions go they've COMPLETELY ignored us over this issue. We're the original voice of guild wars and we're being hushed by a bunch of people who want items that FLUCTUATE drastically value-wise in game.

So 2year minis = 2000+ hours, 200+ bucks, and dedication. Or mini-pets = current value of ecto.... Ouch, two years and I'm the equivalent of an UW run or two..... ouch!

Don't complain about the 2nd birthday pets. It's here just accept the fact that we're getting something to celebrate our 2nd birthday.
